Event Date: August 28, 2019 1:00 pm – 2:15 pm
Hello, dementia-friendly friends. I don’t have to tell you that when you live with someone with dementia, it can be hard to get away. How do you respond when people ask, “Going anywhere special for vacation this summer?” Do you sigh, and say, “Well, I hope to mow the lawn by mid-August”? Why not say: I’m going with my loved one to a place of song, fun and meaning.”
How Sweet It Is!” This summer we continue our celebration of life through the American Songbook. We meet every other Wednsday, from 1:00 to 2:15, at Shaarei Tikvah Synagogue, 46 Fox Meadow Road, Scarsdale. Here are the dates: June 19, July 3, 31, August 14 & 28.
Memory Minyan Thanks to our Dementia-Friendly Synagogues grant from UJA Federation, we and our partner WJCS will have one more Shabbat evening celebration, with a modified but traditional-sounding Kabbalat Shabbat service, and dinner, at Congregation Sons of Israel, 1666 Pleasantville Rd, Briarcliff, on June 21, 5 to 6:30. Be sure to RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday the 19th at noon.
